Vespa Open House

This entry has nothing to do with my children – or being a dad for that matter. But, it has everything to do with having a little time to myself during the Memorial Day weekend.
Recently I’ve been thinking about getting a Vespa scooter. My job is only 6 miles from my house and I don’t even have to get on the highway to get there. My wife’s job is less than a mile from our house. Both of us could easily ride this thing to work, save wear and tear on our cars, save on gas money and help save the environment…, even if just a little bit. The local Vespa dealership had an open house and scooter rally this weekend and I just had to go. I even brought along my video camera just in case I saw something I liked (click on the poster to see a short music video I put together of the footage).
Sure, I can come up with a million reasons not to get one. My friends all think I’m crazy for even considering it. “You’ll get killed,” they say. “You’ve got children!”
Yea…, I know…, but these things are just so damn cool!

Cool indeed. Perhaps you rig up one of those bike trailer’s to zip the kids around town?
