It’s Here!!!

Swingset went up without a hitch yesterday. A process that I thought would take 5 or 6 hours only took these two guys a little over an hour. The girls’ plans had been cancelled, so they watched from our picnic table. Watch this animation I made and note my daughters…, they hardly move the entire time! The installers were rolling their extension cords and they were like, “Daddy…, can we go on it yet?!,” hardly able to contain their excitement. After daddy climbed aboard and shook the thing to make sure it wasn’t going anywhere and a quick test of the swings and I let them have at it. We spent the next several hours playing pirate ship, stopping only long enough for a quick bite of lunch. I actually had to suggest going inside when it became obvious they were getting tired – didn’t want anyone getting hurt the first day. We’ll save that for another time.

It’s Almost Here

The swingset arrives tomorrow. Had to trim a few tree limbs today, but otherwise, we’re all set. The wife is taking the girls to a friend’s house for the morning, while I stay behind to supervise the construction. And to take pictures, of course…, I’ll post a few as soon as I can.

*UPDATE: The wife just called to tell me the plans to go over the friend’s house fell through! Either we have to quickly make new plans, or appoint the girls as “Foremen” to oversee the assambly of the swingset. I bet they would get a kick out of watching them put it together.
