My daughter just turned six. She had a great couple of days partying with friends and family. The wife and I were very happy to see her so happy.

The wife’s birthday is tomorrow. She and I will be the same age for a few months. She’s not so happy about that.

A friend of mine forwarded me this link. It’s enough to make you sick. What the hell is wrong with people?

Excuse me while I revert back to an immature high-school student for a moment, but how do I get to be the guy who holds the ruler for this measurement? This a scene from a John Hughes film waiting to happen.

Man! It’s raining like crazy outside right now! I’m not complaining…, I love a good rainy day every now and then. Besides…, the lawn really needed it. Summer hasn’t been too hot, but its been very dry.

I looked at the date of my last post and couldn’t believe it had been almost two weeks since I’ve written anything new. In fact, I haven’t written much all summer. A combination of factors probably contributed to that. Being busy with the girls home all day and busy at work at night – which was often when I would take few minutes to write (shhhh…, don’t tell). I think I’m also at the point in the blog writing when I started to ask myself why I was writing at all. I’m not writing about anything that every other parent out there isn’t already aware of – although it is sometimes nice to know that you’re not the only one going through some of these experiences. I keep asking myself if there’s something I can do that would differentiate myself from the other dad-blogs out there. I have some ideas, but they’re much more time intensive than just occasionally writing a paragraph or two. I don’t know…, we’ll see how it goes. Now that school’s back in session and I find myself with a little more free time things will pick up?

So yea…, school’s back in session. The girls had a great first week – they both love school. The weekend sucked – I think they were just so tired from the change in schedule that they took it out on each other and my wife and I. It was what we like to call a “big bottle” of wine weekend. You know…, where you buy one of the big bottles of wine on Friday and it’s gone by Sunday night. Yea…, one of those.

But now it’s a rainy Tuesday afternoon. My oldest is in school and my younger daughter is watching TV while I make dinner. Things are good.

How are you?
