This has to be some sort of milestone, right? Today I decided it was time to take the safety latches off the kitchen cabinets. The girls haven’t tried to get into them in years, and we don’t keep anything poisonous in them – only bakeware and kitchen gadgets – so I figured lets give it a try. I don’t completely trust my instincts, however, so I left the catch part of the latch behind in case I need to put them back on, and I did it when they weren’t around – so they have no idea I took them off. Maybe not knowing will prevent their curiosity from getting the better of them? Hey…, I’m excited, although the fist few times I opened them I still found my fingers reaching to push the latch open.

One of my daughter’s friends had a birthday party last week at a nearby farm. It was FREEZING…, but the kids didn’t mind. They were all smiles for the pony rides, and we got to watch not one, but two horses take a huge dump right in front of us. Gideeup!
